CRITERIA FOR APPLICATION
Recruitment and Selection
Presently, the programme is only open to black* students of South African origin. Both High School and University students are eligible to participate, but they must meet the criteria tabulated below before they are considered for selection:
School visits
SAADP staff visit schools that are capable of producing excellent grades in Maths, Science and English and collaborate with the Provincial Department of Education in the ongoing selection of eligible schools.
HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
UNIVERSITY STUDENTS
- Learners must be in Grade 12 and have an excellent academic record in all their subjects, especially Mathematics, English and Physical Science.
- The programme is open to Actuarial Science students who have achieved good results in their first or second year of their studies.
- Learners must have a keen interest in Actuarial Science and display the potential to excel academically at University level
- Students must have a keen interest in Actuarial Science

- Learners must have applied and been accepted at WITS, UCT or Pretoria University. The closing dates for these universities differ so learners are advised to apply early in the year.
- The programme is available to students who are currently studying at WITS, UCT or Pretoria University
- The annual closing date for applications is the 31 October, but learners are advised to apply earlier if possible.
- Students from other Universities may also apply, but they must have applied to and been accepted by WITS, UCT or Pretoria University.
